Principal Rochelle Horton leads the Eagles at Meyer Elementary. With 34 years of experience in education, including 24 years in school administration, she brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the campus. Mrs. Horton has been with Lamar CISD for the past two years and has previously served as a teacher, curriculum facilitator, and assistant principal in other Texas school districts. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her master's degree from Prairie View A&M University. When she is not serving the students and staff of Meyer Elementary, Mrs. Horton enjoys collecting Mickey Mouse memorabilia. Her passion for education is rooted in the core belief that what we do today will echo through eternity; the choices and decisions made today will influence the lives and futures of students who will impact society for generations to come.
