Meyer Elementary follows Lamar CISD district dress and grooming standards.

Meyer Elementary Dress Code

Any collared shirt or blouse, T-shirts and other pullover tops, sweatshirts, shool designs, brand names, or other appropriate words are acceptable. Shirts and blouses must be buttoned in accordance with design and appropriatness.
 
Students may not wear shirts & blouses that are oversied, are made of see-through or sheer material, unless worn over an acceptable shirt or blouse.
 
No tops that depict or reference alcohol, drugs, tobacco, weapons, nudity, gang affiliation, death, violene, vulgar or obscene language or images, and/or insults to race, religion, gender, or ethnicity, or other emblems or writing that may cause a disruption.
 
Undershirts, tank tops, spaghetti straps, or blouses or clothing that expose cleavage or the midriff when the arms are raised may not be worn.
Acceptable pants and slacks are worn at the waist, belted if appropriate, and not baggy.
 
Pants and slacks may not be made of innapropriate, form-fitting materials, made of see-through or sheer material, baggy, sagging, or oversized. No pajamas may be worn.
 
No holes or tears above mid-thigh that expose skin are acceptable unless worn over leggings or tights.
 
Leggings worn as pants must be accompanied by a shirt, skirt, dress, or shorts covering to mid-thigh length.

Acceptable shorts are no shorter than mid-thigh.
 
Shorts may not be made of innapropriate, form-fitting materials, baggy, sagging, or oversized, boxers or pajamas, or made of see-through/sheer materials.
 
No holes or tears above mid-thigh are acceptable unless worn over leggings or tights.
Dresses, skirts, and skorts must be worn at the waist (skirts & skorts,) and may be no shorter than mid-thigh. Dress tops must meet the guidelines required for blouses and shirts.
 
Dresses, skorts, and shirts may not be made of revealing or form-fitting materials.
 
Slits in skirts or dresses must not be higher than mid-thigh.
 
Dresses, skorts, and skirts must not be shorter than mid-thigh regardless of whether leggings are worn.
Shoes must always be worn, chosen for safety and health reasons, and quietness.
 
Athletic shoes with a rubber sole, closed toes, and full support around the heel should be worn for PE and recess.
 
Shoes with over 1-inch heels, slides, and flip-flops are not recommended for safety reasons.
 
House shoes and shoes with wheels are not acceptable.
Earrings, hair jewelry, watches, bracelets, rings, and necklaces that are not a safety hazard or create a disruption may be worn.
 
Jewlwery that is considered gang related is not allowed. 
 
Students may not wear nose rings, visible body, or facial piercings.
For unique special events the campus administration may establish event-specific dress code requirement.
 
Hats, caps, sport headbands, bandanas, headcovers, or scarves shall not be worn indoors except in the intrest of religious practices, safety, cleanliness, or with the permission of the principal.
 
No article or apparel shall be worn that will in any way damage school property, create a safety hazard, or create a disruption to the school environment.
 
Tattoos, accessories, juewlry, and clothing that contain vulgar or innapropriate pictures, vulgar or innapropriate words, or drawings, or gang-related markings are not permitted.
