Welcome Back, Meyer Eagles!

We are thrilled to welcome our Eagles back to the building as we kick off another exciting school year this Monday! The energy is high, our classrooms are ready, and our staff can’t wait to see those smiling faces walk through the doors. Be sure to read below for important beginning-of-the-year updates to help your family start strong!

Sidewalk chalk

Chalk the Walk - August 10

Help us give our Eagles the warmest welcome back to school! Join us on Sunday, August 10 from 3:30–4:30 p.m. to decorate the sidewalks leading up to the school with colorful chalk art and encouraging messages.

We'll provide the sidewalk chalk, all you need to bring is your creativity and school spirit! Let’s show our students just how excited we are for the 2025–2026 school year!

Skyward Forms: Almost There, Eagles!

Thank you, Meyer families, for completing your beginning-of-year forms in Skyward! When the district checked earlier this week, Meyer was at 89%: the second highest completion rate in the district! After Meet the Teacher last night, we’ve climbed to an incredible 96%!

If you haven’t had a chance to complete your forms yet, please do so before Monday to ensure a smooth first day.

Need assistance? Contact Susan Evans at (832) 223-2003 or sbevans@lcisd.org—she’ll be happy to help!

Let’s hit 100%, Eagles!

First Day of School - August 11

Start your engines—it’s time to hit the track! The first day of school is Monday, August 11, and we’re excited to welcome our students back for a year full of learning, growth, and reaching GOALS!

Doors open at 7:10 a.m. and staff will be ready to help everyone find their way to the right classroom. If you did not make it to Meet the Teacher, you will go to the gym where staff will be waiting to give you homeroom teacher names and room numbers.

Let’s make this year the best one yet—Ready, Set, GOAL!

No Lunch Visitors for the First Two Weeks

To help our students settle into the school year and learn important lunchtime routines, we will not be allowing lunchtime visitors during the first two weeks of school. This time is crucial for helping students build independence and adjust to their daily schedule.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we create a smooth and successful start for all our Eagles!

Vision and Hearing Screenings

Meyer will be conducting vision and hearing screenings for the following students:
🔹 All students new to LCISD
🔹 All EE (4-year-old), PK, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students

If you do not wish for your child to participate in these screenings, please contact Nurse Merta by August 19. A permission denial form will be sent home and must be signed by a parent or guardian.

Thank you for helping us ensure every student has a healthy and successful start to the school year!
