Our 3rd-5th grade students at Meyer Elementary School will be taking the state STAAR assessments on the following dates:
- April 9th - 5th ELAR (Reading) STAAR
- April 10th - 3rd/4th ELAR (Reading) STAAR
- April 15th - 5th Science STAAR
- April 22nd - 5th Math STAAR
- April 23rd - 3rd/4th Math STAAR
The purpose of the state STAAR assessment is to measure a student’s academic growth in reading, math, and/or science. It is important that students be in attendance and on time these days. Please arrange doctor’s appointments on a non-testing date. Your child should not bring their backpack, a blanket, stuffed animals, toys, etc. to campus on testing days.
In order to help your child perform at his or her best, please ensure the following items occur so your student will be prepared both mentally and physically for testing:
- Gets a good night’s sleep.
- Eats a nutritious breakfast.
- Arrives at school by 7:40 AM.
- Brings glasses if he/she requires them.
- Takes any required medication (if applicable).
- Is relaxed and free from stress as much as possible.
- Wish your child a pleasant day and tell him/her that you know he/she will be successful by simply doing his/her best.
